Strain Review: Chemdawg by UpNorth

Aroma: like a well grown chem should smell. It straight up reeks of funky diesel gasoline with hints of fresh cut grass and chemical astringent cleaner. The backend is a kind of mentholated pine. I’ve missed This smell so much. It was my favorite as a young pothead. There’s nothing quite like it. I got it from a deadhead friend of mine back then and it was some of the strongest flower I’ve ever tried. I’m pleased to say it still is.
Appearance: Probably one of the best examples of Chem I’ve seen in a very long time. It is completely frosted over. Super bright floral greens with darker olive hues. The structure is unmistakable. The biggest bug I got was a tiny tightly trimmed little Mountain of different pod like fingers. The lower nugs I got Almost seemed a bit more resinous but the whole jar is just eye candy. Amazing green weed with no gimmicks or false promises.
Flavor: it is very much gas forward. Super mouth staining diesel fumes and Candified sour lemon cleaner coats my mouth. You can tell this is in the parentage of OG for sure. It’s just so damn tasty I want to just continuously smoke it. Good thing it’s potent as fuck so doing so can be kind of difficult. It has that chemmy skunky almost baby poop kind of musk too. I would grow this for the head stash for sure. It’s burns pure white and is very smooth with some moderate expansion.
Effect: It comes on really fast with some pressure to the head. Followed by a wave of mind melting relaxation. The munchies are strong with this strain. No matter what I ate I never felt full. Smoking this before some kind of eating competition or thanksgiving dinner would be perfect. It’s great for back pain too. After smoking a full joint of this strain all I wanted to do was sleep for a very long time. It’s pretty versatile though. If you consume a little bit it can be decent for midday but I always overindulge so it ends up being a drowsy type of effect.
Overall: I’m so very happy I finally found a well grown example of this strain again. I miss when I can get oz’s of this on the low back in the day but something this special is really scarce these days. Much love to up north for doing this classic strain justice. I would happily smoke through a whole pound of this myself which I really can’t say about many other strains at all.
