Strain Review: Duck Sauce by Teds Budz

With many brands deploying their topshelf flowers through the infamous distributor; Tedsbudz, I was excited to finally get hold of one of their many own flowers, collaborated with rapper Eastside Eggroll. Being the infamous Runtz but with a slight twist (Platinum OG). Upon opening I instantly received a rush of an enticing creamy, sweet candy aroma, consisting of ultra sweet notes of guava, grapes and light blackcurrant. This blend of sweet creaminess was balanced perfectly with a Gelato influenced gasiness. This infusion of compelling terpenes complement each other perfectly, letting off a pure creamy candy gassy essence as mentioned. The buds were of a medium to hard density, having a boulder structure, being a shade of light green with purple hues and guts, with hydroponic hairs, and absolutely showered in trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was overcome by notes translating from the smell, delivering sweet candy and creamy notes infused with a Gelato 41 dominated gas, with hidden traits of the classic Platinum OG. Sweet blackcurrant, strawberry and grape notes prevail, with the overall flavour being initially more candy dominant throughout, through combustion the sweetness develops a gassy backend, leaving the taste of gas and sweet bubblegum upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of white to very light silver, alongside a leaking and oozing resinous oil ring, smoking both smooth and tasting clean. To conclude, this was a great tasting Runtz, leaning towards a sweet side which I appreciate, and although I could not exclusively notice a strong Platinum OG presence, it definitely adds a unique twist on the common Runtz taste normally encountered. I can’t wait for other drops of Tedsbudz flowers to hit the UK.
