Strain Review: Melon Berries by Kapow Berries

From hearing consistent great things about Kapow Based, I was extremely excited to be able to get my hands on their small batch grown; Melon Berries. Upon opening I instantly received an extremely inviting scent of Lemon Tree with an exotic twist. Displaying a complex infusion of lemonade with sharp citrus notes of orange, grapefruit and traits of sweet watermelon. This refreshing exotic and floral scent was complemented by a sugary and piney sweetness with hints of cherries, blueberries and grapes. The buds were of an overly hard density, being a boulder and hybrid structure. They were a shade of medium green covered in hues of purple, alongside short rustic pistils, and showered in a universe of trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by notes translating from the smell. Delivering thirst quenching citrus notes of orange, tangerine and carbonated lemons infused with sweet cherries and berries alongside grapefruit and faint watermelon. This tantalising taste was complemented by an earthy, sweet sugary candy backend, exhibiting distant notes of sour grapes. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light silver, alongside an instantaneous oozing and dripping resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean. To conclude, after a long bout of curing Melon Berries gradually got better and better, and eventually managed to deliver an enjoyable array of exotic flavours, smoking pleasantly well. On a downside, it produced a fairly disconcerting shade of ash, as well as revealing the odd bag seed, ultimately not being worthy of its ridiculously high price tag. With a little further dialling in required, I’m sure Melon Berries can be revived back to its once highly spoken quality.
