Having enjoyed the Doja and Blueprint collaboration on Purple Dino last year, I was not hesitant to restock it on its recent availability. Upon opening, I was greeted by a familiar but distinctive blend of aromas. Primarily displaying strong notes of sweetly carbonated grapes infused with a sourly citrus grapefruit and chemical gas. This fizzy grape essence was balanced with a complementary gentle Gelato gas, with floral and nutty traits. The buds were of a fairly hard density, having a boulder structure, being a shade of medium to light green, covered in a light layer of purple, alongside rustic pistils, and home to a universe of trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome with a dominant Gelato derived gas with nutty and chemical undertones, infused with sour and citrus notes of grapefruit, exhibiting its distant Sour Diesel lineage. This strong sour resinous gas was complemented by subdued notes of grapes attempting to sweeten the overall taste, which was subsequently retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling, with a slight coarseness noted. The joint produced ash being a shade of medium to light silver, alongside an oozing resinous oil ring, smoking partially smooth and tasting clean. To conclude, having previously already tried and enjoyed Purple Dino, I unfortunately found this particular batch exhibiting a sour gassy dominance overpowering the anticipated sweet and floral notes, and generally not performing as well. Without being too critical it still smoked relatively ok, and with some quality control, PD will hopefully retain it place as a strong staple on Doja’s and Blueprint’s lineup.
