Strain Review: Tropical Zoap by Deep East

From primarily enjoying Zoap and strains sharing a close lineage, I was excited to see how this fairly newly released tropical counterpart fared. Upon opening I was greeted by a floral Sherbet and Cookie influenced earthy gas, alongside suppressed undertones of guava and cherries infused with faint tropical hints of pineapple and citrus.
Upon delving in further, a deep centred Zoap aroma was present, displaying familiar floral traits infused with soapy detergent and light creamy strawberries. The buds were of a hard density and had a boulder structure. They were a shade of light green with sporadically attractive purple guts, alongside short orange pistils and absolutely showered in trichomes.
Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by an extremely smooth Sherbet and Cookie influenced earthiness. Gentle subdued notes of guava and cherries accompanied by very faint tropical undertones began to develop, marginally complementing this gassiness just enough without being to apparent. The taste of this smooth Sherbet and mildly sweet rendition of Zoap was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling.
The joint produced ash being a shade of very light grey, alongside an instantaneous dripping and oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, although Tropical Zoap did not taste as tropical or Zoap dominant as anticipated from the branding, I was pleasantly surprised with how the mild sweetness involved was just enough to support the Sherbet earthiness, resulting in an extremely smooth finish. It smoked satisfyingly well, and ticked most boxes. With a little further dialling in required, Tropical Zoap can be even further improved, hopefully becoming more exotic and remain a strong staple of Deep East’s lineup.
