Preface: This is an old review from late December of 2021, LA Traditional had taken over the High Season location in DTLA and I was in the area off of a Guisados run and decided to check it out. This was one of the coolest dispensaries I’d ever visited that fully permitted media and had a grow attached!
COMPANY INFO: I wasn’t able to find much but I do know that the Russian Assassin boys are a group of growers in LA who’ve been around pumping fire for a long time before they partnered with Traditional to grow and release their products to the rec market. This three five cost me under three five and with traditional’s first timer 30% off deal at the time this was a steal. High season lists the strain as a cookies&cream, chem dawg and mint chocolate chip cross.
VISUALS: 10/10
I can honestly say I couldn’t decide what color these nugs were. The trichome layer was so thick on every nug it looked like the primary color with splashes of dark green, lime and purple. The light orange pistils looked almost knotted into the dense yet perfectly cured nugs.
SMELL: 10/10
Wow. The homie at the shop helping me out had described this strain as “terps with power”. It definitely fit the description, first coming off with a crazy sweet fruity candy like smell that slowly gets overtaken by a gassy loudness that made it impossible to contain in the jar once the seal was broken.
TASTE & EFFECTS: 10/10
One of the best smokes of my 2021, the smell of this strain translated to the dry pull and the joint. The fruity candy taste hit the palate first and is followed by a stupid loud gassiness that hit me with some crazy lung expansion off of the inhale.This was a crazy potent yet enjoyable smoke that had white ash all the way. Effects wise, this was exactly I was looking for as a super heavy indica high that was so tasty before totally rocking me leaving me incapable of doing anything other than bumbling around getting the munchies and watching an NBA game before nodding off. I would recommend this as a night time smoke because every time I smoked this I wanted to knock out, but the taste was so enjoyable I used it for any instance.
