WaxNax glass inserts allow brands to pre-portion dab doses
I bumped into Brian Bussey of WaxNax at Area 101 last month and he gave me a pack of WaxNax to try out. Just giving the gear a quick look that night, I hadn’t quite seen anything like it before.

The next day, I enjoined my dabbing friends to lend me their torch and rig for an intense experimentation sesh to see what these WaxNaxes are all about.
Officially, the WaxNax website, calls their product a glass insert and describes its genesis:
“Why aren’t dabs packaged and sold in individual, pre-portioned doses?”
In search of an answer, WaxNax LLC was formed in 2018 and we began developing a solution.
After a year of R&D, we released our preloaded glass inserts that allow consumers to regulate dosage, dab on-the-go, experience improved flavor, no longer clean dirty rigs, protect their lungs, and reduce their carbon footprints with less waste.“
My WaxNax Experience
Loading the dabs into the inserts manually without the help of a dark saber was not ideal. Unfortunately, I wasn’t working with something that lended itself well to making dab balls for dabsketball. I made it work with an Ay Papi co dab tool and we were off to the races.
The right size and especially the right placement means your banger or the larger insert you insert this insert in can actually stay clean. If you’re really efficient, you can significantly change your cleaning ritual with the use of these inserts. Depending on how you use them, if they’re preloaded or not, and whether you have a dunk tank or not, it may actually add steps to your ritual.

The very first time I tried it, I set the dabrite just right and dropped the insert in around 400. By the time the insert got heated up, the temp was too low. The temp to drop it in will take a little adjustment if you plan to use it that way. What happened next was a series of two second blasts with the torch. A warm start, if you will.
These inserts really are best used for cold starts. I’d argue that they even favor e-rig use. It’s only useful for dabs on the go if you’re really careful as pocket tech could end up causing undesirable outcomes.
For companies, WaxNax offers the opportunity to create unique SKUs with pre-portioned dabs – which in turn will open up the market of dabbing to more people. It’s actually less glass used than a standard 1g jar.
