Cultivar Review: Octang by Seeds of Kismet
I made one of my yearly pilgrimages to the beast coast for the East Coast Connoisseur Cup and was blessed by serendipity (kismet to some) to be able to try some Octang and Ghost Train Haze from Seeds of Kismet.

Octang Cannabis Cultivar (“Strain”) Review
This is the Octang review!
I love getting to experience things that are descended from NYC diesel because I can really really see that NYC Diesel and that dour power are distinctly different things. NYC Diesel from Soma has nothing to do with the chem diesel that NYC made famous, and the close names have caused confusion ever since to custies who never tried both “diesels”.
What I’m trying to say is, SFV OG brought the gas. NYC Diesel brought the interestingness. whether that’s higher levels of minor cannabinoids, terps or other flavorants or flavanoids that aren’t lab testable, it doesn’t matter if it prints on paper cuz it’s there in the smoke.
I taste fennel, gas, and an earthy bouquet – that might be how a wine somm would describe it. There’s kush, there’s woodiness i attribute to long forgotten ancestral lines that probably stretch into Mexico and back to the Levant. Suffice to say, the taste is great – not fruity, not floral, thoroughly fuel and earth to me.
As a weed snob, I’d rather drill in on the high.
Octang has instant gassy smack high vibes along with slow creeper body relaxation vibes. The two hit in separate stages and they meld together into a perfect relaxing and contemplative high. It’s like riding one of those escalator elevator combinations. If you’ve ever been on a trolley that going up a hill, you’ll know what i mean.
A very couched afghanica heavy smack with just enough mental acuity left for me to pigeon peck a review out. Maybe I’ll nap next. The only thing I know is coming for sure, is me missing this east coast smoke.
