What is THCA?
THC-A stands for tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. Kiiiind of a mouthful. THCA is essentially flower that has not yet been decarboxylated (heated or burned.) Think of it as pure, raw cannabis. Similar to CBD, it is non intoxicating.
Even though it’s research it’s still in the beginning stages, it is starting to demonstrate different therapeutic effects, such as acting as a an anti-inflammatory, neuroprotectant, anti nausea, and has been used in treating prostate cancer.
You can find THCA in any strain that has a high THC that hasn’t been decarbed yet. You can also try juicing freshly picked cannabis leaves. Other companies like Mary’s Medicinals, make neat transdermal patches for all day relief @maryjanesmeds
This just goes to show how versatile this amazing plant can be.

I made my first venture to a local dispensary where I purchased Bubba Kush popcorn buds which is labeled as 0.0% THC, 0% CBD, 0% CBDA, and a THCA of 20.52%. How do they manage to do this? The buds look, smell, and taste acceptable, however, as one might imagine, little notable effects. The dispensary only lists the THCA on virtually all their products.
I went around with the dispensary about this where they confused me with ‘different locations lable things differently’ when I asked if they had anything that had a high THC content as I was unhappy. They came back with a container of the same strain, shake, which only had 1.3% THC and is drek for quality. Hoping this would at least be better I accepted this and left, however, as noted it is drek and while performing this secondary transaction, was made to feel awkward, standing off in a corner like a child being punished to be later chastised by the ‘bud tender expert’. Very unsatisfying experience all around and a waste of money to boot. Sorry if asking an opinion on the matter is a bit odd, but I think people should be informed of some of the shennanigans that appear to be going on. Thanks.
