Does THC percentage really matter?

Does THC percentage really matter? The short answer: no! 🚫

Why THC percentage doesn’t really matter

As Tryke Cultivator said it best “you’re preparing a meal for yourself, and you go to the liquor store to find the perfect beverage to compliment the flavors of your meal. Do you walk to the counter and ask for the bottle with the highest alcohol percentage? Most likely not, as Everclear doesn’t really have the most appetizing taste.” 🥂 I work at a dispensary and can tell you first hand, that many of my customers buy their flower solely based off of THC percentage or content. When you do this, you’re missing out on one of the most rewarding parts of the experience: finding a flavor profile that you love. ♥ Different strains offer different beneficial effects; with many of them only being delivered through the strain’s unique terpene profile.

What to look for instead of THC percentage in a strain?

The most important rule to remember is this: it’s not the THC content that matters, but how the THC combines with other plant compounds to create the experience of the high. The next time you want to procure some herb for yourself, try considering two things: what smells do you like the most, and how you want to use the cannabis. Most respectable dispensaries will allow you to smell any of the strains you wish to see. Your nose is going to be an amazing asset here, as you can go through individual products, looking for the smells you like best. 👃 For example, strains with a more piney scent are shown to aid in alertness and memory retention, while strains that produce a more musky, earthy profile are more likely to give you that couch-locking, stoned sensation. And yes, there ARE sativas that can make you sleepy, just like there are indicas that can jazz you up! How you want to use the cannabis is very important, as you wouldn’t want to choose a strain for productivity, if your end goal is to fall asleep quickly. Keep this post handy, and the next time you visit your local dispensary, ask the budtender for information on the terpenes of their different strains, or simply take the time to get a good feel of different smells. #themoreyouknow #cannabiscommunity #highlife #420 #420society #weedstagram #dabstagram #weedstagram420 #learn #science #710 #weedporn
