Animal Mintz x Permanent Marker Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review

Winners of @thenewyorkgrowerscup & @zalympix, and featured in @nytimes and @hightimesmagazine, these NY cultivators are on the rise. The Holy Trinity event showcased an array of flavors, with the grower recommending Pheno 18 for the Animal Mints bx1 aka alien mints x Permanent Marker. Permanent Marker has become one of my personal favorites in the past two years, blending Biscotti x Jealousy x Sherb bx into a triple threat for the ages. Alien mints is a cross between Wedding cake x Animal Mints F1. The palate and aroma are dominated by the gassy pungency of Jealousy x Biscotti in the Permanent Marker. I experienced a musky, sweet sherb, fuel, and bitter cookie mint aftertaste. The appearance features medium-sized nugs with fern and moss green leaves, along with Cheddar cheese-colored pistils and crystallized trichomes. The scent is potent, exuding the gas-like odor of the Permanent Marker. The effects are cerebral, with a medium-level and immediate onset. I started feeling the buzz after 4-5 pulls, and it lasted for about 3 hours. It induced a “low eyes” syndrome and left me couch-locked, with intense munchies. The ash report initially showed a 70/30 ratio, which turned into a 60/40 ratio. The smoking experience was pleasant, with a smooth and fuel-tingling inhale and a soothing exhale. I smoked about 1.5g in each joint, and it kept me stuck and drowsy throughout the day. In conclusion, Pheno 18 of the AM x PM cross is arguably one of the best strains from @marijuantauk_gardens. The standout features are the smoking experience, the couch-lock effect, and the gassy aroma. The palate and aroma exhibit characteristics of the Permanent Marker with hints of Animal Mints, while the visual appeal resembles Animal Mints. Personally, I enjoy exploring different phenotypes due to their distinct qualities. Overall, it’s definitely worth trying. Special thanks to Ethan for the Holy blessings.
