Cultivar Review: Strawberry Biscotti by Happy Day Farms

Bringing new life to heirloom genetics is a move we can always get behind. #happydayfarms has been working with various offspring of a Strawberry Afghan for over 15 years now (make sure to go back and read our #sourstrawberry review if you haven’t seen it yet) and continues to find relevance in a market that is constantly changing. @twenty20mendocino originally made the Sour Strawberry, then Humboldt DNA used it to create another crowd pleaser with a completely different personality.

Strawberry Biscotti Cannabis Cultivar (“Strain”) Review

Appearance: Heavy trichome coverage meets elite level integrity here and it’s glorious. Maturity and cure are on point. The farm cut means you finger trim right before grinding and rolling/packing and the jars are vacuum sealed, so the overall condition is very, very nice.

Aroma: Opening one of these jars brings more than the satisfying pop of the vacuum. Soft strawberry, honeydew melon, dough and gas swirl and intensify as the buds are broken up. Fruit/Fuel/Earth is the profile.

Flavor: The quality of cure shines as this burns perfectly and is super smooth. Gas and dough flavors are prominent, while a strawberry lemonade aftertaste lingers on the palate after exhaling. The second half of a joint sees flavors of wood, pine needles and black tea build toward the finish.

Experience: This is where she creates some separation. The effects start to materialize quickly, continuing to build for 15 minutes after the fire is out. It’s relaxing both mentally and physically. Intensity is high and dosage will determine a lot. Go with what is typically a small or moderate amount for yourself and this can be a functional, if not energetic, experience. Go heavy, though, and we’ve found it to be a bit of a 🔨. The Biscotti is definitely felt, but the Sour adds some buoyancy. Think of it as a heavy hitter with some added versatility for the experienced head.
