Strain Review: Apple Fritter by Boring Weed Co

Apple Fritter is a strain that pushed its way into the center connoisseur market recently. I can’t tell you who bred it, but I’ve seen pretty top notch runs from @evans_creek_farms and a few others, plus @echo_electuary just dropped a new single source badder made with the stuff, if I recall correctly. This iteration is from @boring_weedco/Real McCoy Farms. It’s been on the @oregrownindustries shelves for a while now, but this batch was real pretty. Boring Apple Fritter Strain Review

At the price I paid for it, the quality you get is a little hit and miss. It’s never bad weed, but when you get into the higher price tiers, the quality you expect goes up which really sets a high bar. I wasn’t disappointed with this stuff at all. Tasting notes actually managed to lean heavily on apples, which is fairly unusual in my experiences. So many apple strains I’ve had have been glorified lemon and Jack terps with maybe a little green apple if you look hard enough. This stuff, though. It hit with mad fruit on the nose. Red apples with grape or black cherry Punch terps underneath. Just a nice, bright spin on traditional dark fruit terps with a Martinelli’s cider-esque dryness to keep things interesting. Even the taste had apple to it. The fruitiness didn’t come through nearly as much. You know that weird taste you get from the skin when you bite into an apple? That’s kinda what I got on the taste. The brightness and fruitiness really abated for those more astringent and black liquorice flavors. Overall smoking experience was very positive. Smoke was relatively smoothe and didn’t leave me choking or hurting once initial exhale coughing was done. The high set in pretty quick with an initial bodily relaxation and a mental stimulation that sets in over the next few minutes the more it got my attention. Super hybrid effects overall. I was surprisingly happy with this. It’s definitely gonna find its way into my regular rotation now. I don’t know a whole lot about the farm other than that they’ve been around for a hot second and hold a position of high regard for most people I talk to. You’ll be glad you gave this stuff a try. Big shout out to the homies over at Oregrown. Their budtenders are some of the best in the game. I really appreciate everyone there, but count yourself truly lucky if you get Spencer, Sean, or Sonia. I haven’t had a chance to interact with Crash much yet, but he also seems fantastic. You can’t go wrong with any of their products or staff.
