Strain Review: MAC 1 by LOWD

Ok, I’m just gonna say it. The reason everyone likes MAC 1 is that it’s so dense you take bigger hits than you think you are. Joking aside, I think the MAC 1 from @thelowd is the platonic ideal of MAC 1 for me. They got their cut from @deschutes.growery, so many of you will have already tried it. Somehow they managed to take an already great cut and make it even better. This is a really well selected pheno that @jescehorton and his team have managed to really bring to its full potential. LOWD MAC 1 Strain Review

My biggest gripe with MAC and MAC 1 has always been its density. There is such a thing as too dense, and that’s regularly where both strains fall. While not in the least bit fluffy, these nugs weren’t rocks. They were good sized and incredibly dense, but I didn’t feel like the hits I was loading were bigger than usual, an issue I face with the MAC 1 from @evans_creek_farms. True to form for the grower, the positive qualities of this strain were kicked up to 11. The smell was everything you’d expect from MAC 1 with an added layer of depth. Some cinnamon sugar, kinda snickerdoodle cookie dough notes with this almost rotten banana smell underneath that took me until maybe 2 minutes ago to put my finger on. I attribute that smell to the Colombian genetics in its lineage, and I really love MAC of any kind that puts those qualities forward. The high is super nice. Focused and creative, not sleepy in the least. Just one hit will have you pretty ripped. When people ask for recommendations of this farm’s flower, it’s this or the Cake Mints that I go to. Both are amazing in their own, unique ways and really express the positive qualities of their genetics in a wonderful manner. The guys (and gals? I’m not sure) at @thelowd seriously know how to pick a pheno and get the most out of it. I also really appreciate the SLAG jars. These things are UV protected and big enough for quite a few things.
