Since grabbing this with their Mule Fuel (see last post) I am a big fan of Sugarbud. From lot specific breakdowns of the full terpene and cannabinoid profiles to small decisions like selecting the nugs fit for sale, every piece shows they consider the customer every step of the way. When you open the top the smell is intense. Sugarbud uses cold jars during the curing process, making sure that as they are burped minimal terps escape. A pungent bouquet of jet fuel and cookie dough fills the room recalling Prenup’s Wedding Cake genetics. While the limonene in here reaches almost 1% it is completely overpowered by the sweeter, gassy yet floral terps of caryophyllene, linalool, and bisabolol. The name is not fitting at all as you gaze upon crystally buds fit for any engagement ring. All the nugs were large, beautifully trimmed, and squishy. The cold curing really makes a difference keeping the nugs about as fresh as possible while concentrating the terps, and resulting in flower that still burns white and smokes smooth. The taste has that unique sweet dough quality, tasting very similar to the GSC way back in its lineage, especially the aftertaste. Memories of sitting on the kitchen counter, ladle in hand, big grin and no worries. Ma says its fine Gran, I’m not getting salmonella. I found the effects to be varied. While only testing at 21% THC it is easy to overdo (or easy to get messed up as planned). One or two hits can be productive enough for work, relieving anxiety and increasing patience and giggles. But smoke more, which is very easy as the cure makes it so smooth, and it can incapacitate you. I was not presentable, stumbling over every word and every second step. And pleasantly, there is no crash or couchlock. Testing at 1.3% THCV (think UK Cheese) and .85% CBG (think MTL) there is lots to counteract the caryophyllene which not only sedates but can ensure the THC punches. Overall Prenup is a great strain for anyone looking for a balanced hybrid that still has no crash.
