Although I am not too overly enthusiastic on grape or Starfighter crosses, I was however interested to see how this appealing cross with Runtz fared. Upon opening I instantly received fragrant notes of sour grapes infused with citrusy oranges and mildly sweet cherries, complemented by a Cookies influenced earthiness with hints of cream and menthol.
The buds were of a medium to hard density and had a hybrid structure. They were a shade of medium to light green with sporadic hues of purple, alongside messy rustic pistils and coated in an almost white thick layer of trichomes. Upon inhaling, my palate was instantly overcome by a distinctive creamy and menthol earthiness, alongside sour grapes and faint citrusy oranges, exhibiting its Grapes N Cream lineage effectively.
Through combustion a pungent Gelato influence with mildly sweet notes of cherries and chemicals began to develop, complementing the initial profile well. The taste of this unique creamy, grape and cherry pungent earthiness was retained on my tastebuds upon exhaling. The joint produced ash being a shade of very light grey, alongside an instantaneous oozing resinous oil ring. It smoked both smooth and tasted clean.
To conclude, I ultimately found Vanilla Velvet to deliver a well balanced infusion of Grapes N Cream alongside a complementary Runtz, with the genetics supporting each other effectively without overpowering one another. It smoked well, ticking most boxes and with a little further dialling in required will remain an enjoyable, distinctive staple of Jungleboy’s lineup, especially for enthusiasts of MAC related strains.
