Bred by Exotic Genetix, and winning awards since, it only works as a craft strain. Selected for more than just potency and yield it is not one that a Redecan or Tweed could ever make a dime off of. Due to its sativa bent and wispy bud structure it needs care if sold as flower that actually shows up whole, and not the newest flavor of Shred Wink’s offering is lacking in its bag appeal but the high still punches in the hard hitting yet balanced way that it should. The smell is mild but delicious, surprising as it was very fresh. Top notes of sweet vanilla slightly floral, with deeper under notes of coffee and chocolate (it is named perfectly). Though picking up the bud is disappointing. More than just a sativa leaning bud structure this stuff would look like bush if not so frosty, and it wasn’t taken in to account when bagging as I even received a completely bare stem (weighed less than .1g but still ugly) The actual smoke here thankfully redeems it. Gently sweet on both the inhale and exhale it is incredibly smooth, owing to its superb freshness. The high is a creeper and with the smoothness it is very easy to smoke too much before it’s too late. With the first hit shoulders drop and tension escapes the temples but the high is underwhelming. Smoke a couple more bowls over the next hour, just out of habit, and all of a sudden BAM you realize you’re wrecked and the 28% THC makes sense. Without a single cough or throat tickle this stuff will settle in to the back of your mind giving a very stoney high that is not sedating in the slightest. Similar to most strains following the recent trend of cake/cookie genetics bred to go up (think Freshly Baked or Prenup) except with a bit more haziness at the peak of the high Overall Wink’s Cookies and Cream shows that it is a limited edition. It has not been dialed in enough to be market ready, especially to the quality I have come to expect of Wink. Flavor chasers may want to snatch it up before its gone, as it really is uniquely yummy.
