Strain Review: Hypnotoad by Headrush Hill Farms
I’ve been looking forward to this release from @headrushhill since I saw pictures of the plant, and I was really excited when my friends at @thc.pdx got it in stock. I gotta say, though, I don’t think this Hypnotoad is good representation of how good Headrush Hill’s flower is.
Lineage/Genetics: Peanut Butter Breath x GB6 Trix
Indica or Sativa: Indica dominant Hybrid
Original Breeder: Headrush Hill Farms
Grower: Headrush Hill Farms

As you can see, the nugs are beautiful. The purple is even darker than my camera can portray, bordering on black on some nugs. They’re coated in a dense layer of frosty trichomes, and the orange hairs provide a nice contrast.
That visual beauty didn’t translate into taste for me. I had to REALLY get my nose into the dram to get any scent whatsoever, and no real flavor went into the smoke. There was a general sweetness, but nothing notable.
The smoke was incredibly smooth, if otherwise fairly flavorless. The high was euphoric, pleasant, and relaxing, and the smoking experience was still pleasant if otherwise not noteworthy.
This is one I would try again, but honestly can’t really recommend for the connoisseurs out there at this point. It isn’t bad weed at all, it was clearly grown well, I just don’t think it’s up to snuff with the weed this farm usually puts out. Their Han Solo Burger is an old favorite of mine and is one of the few heavy GMO crosses I’ve really enjoyed. Try that instead.
