Strain Review: Mrs. Z by Oakfruitland
REVIEW # 29:Mrs Z from Oakfruitland

PREFACE: I first came across Oakfruitland at the Californias Finest event last summer in Sacramento thrown by Lumpys flowers. My first time discovering the brand was coincidentally the first time they were debuting the Z, and at a ridiculous ticket for anything of this quality, especially Zkittlez on the CA rec market.
COMPANY BACKGROUND: Oakfruitland is a Oakland based cultivation, distro and manufacturer. Prior to launching, Oakfruitland was the operation growing and white labeling for Grandiflora genetics. My favorite point about them is their 90 day swap policy, as a consumer freshness is a major issue in the flower available on the rec market, any Oakfruitland batch sitting on the shelves of a dispensary can be swapped out for a fresh batch within 90 days of going old, a policy that in my experience has ensured freshness.
VISUALS: Straight Z, With that gnarled , forested mossy sort of surface appearance, pear green and forest green hues along with fresh small to medium dense nugs with a tight closed up bud structure. The trichomes were amberish, and light coverage wise visually contrasting the large amount of thick knotted burnt orange pistils on the exterior.
SMELL:To me the smell of good Zkittlez has always been with one that overlaps with a childhood memory of plucking & eating the nectar of Wild yellow honeysuckles, with the flower in the centre of the suckle giving a perfumey natural smelling nose that’s both sweet yet crisp. The nose on this was as such+a slight hint of musk.
TASTE & EFFECTS : This one was like breathing air, the inhale and flavor on the joint first started up with a spiced almost cardamon like taste when first lit ( direct quote from @ogismyoxygen ) before transitioning to that honeysuckle nectar flavor about a quarter of the joint in and continuing all the way to the roach. The high itself was as similar to a “sativa” as one could get with an alertness spreading to the mind with a feeling of overall lightness in the body after smoking as opposed to heaviness with most highs. A very functional strain and to date the best rec market rendition of Z I’ve seen in shops for the value.
