Lodestar Peanut Butter Breath Review

Hey what’s up everyone? I hope you are all having a great Tuesday and getting back into the swing of things after a big holiday weekend. Today I have a first timer (although I have had them in the past before starting this page) whom is Lodestar Cannabis hailing from Southern Maine. These guys have been leaving their mark on the small batch cannabis scene in New England since late 2014. Their mantra is safety which means clean meds are a top priority for their patients. As mentioned, I’ve tried their Banana Cream and White Durban earlier this year before doing reviews so I was more than excited when I was gifted with their Peanut Butter Breath. One of Thug Pugs finest inventions! Let’s waste no more time and get into the facts. The person who gifted me with this Peanut Butter Breath put it in a standard glass jar with a black twist off. A little bit different from the jars that Lodestar uses which depicts their dark green and gray logo with a jet flying over. This is bias of me, but some of the best brands out their seem to have a plane in their logo LOL (if you get the joke). When I twisted off the cap I was smacked with those distinct earthy, musty and nutty aromas that are commonly found within this cultivar. I also caught some gassy and diesel aromas that faded in and out as well. When I pulled out the massive nugs (2 of them totaled a 3.5g) I was amazed by the aesthetics. The buds were dark purple (almost black in some areas) with lighter and darker green hues mixed in. The pistils were scatter and, some, a little packed in but the way the triches stood out on this one made it a modeling cut. Dense but moderately sticky and flaky resulted in a yield that was above par upon being broken down in the grinder. There was an admitted smell of diesel and nutty scents that filled the air once broken down. Personally, I don’t think it will be too difficult recommending this one. I don’t think many smokers, regardless of experience, would pass this up after first glance. The aesthetics alone are enough to draw a crowd. I believe that smokers of both intermediate and more advance levels could handle this offering with ease. This certainly will appeal to smokers who tend to lean towards more gassy offerings as opposed to ones that are on the fruiter and candy end of the spectrum. Pickier smokers may be a little disappointed just a little. I say that mostly because when you come across a strain as delectable as this you may set your standards a little too on high the how it will actually smoke. That is not to bad mouth this by any means because those same smokers will likely be more than satisfied with the high this brings to the table. This is ideal for any patients experiencing any mood swings, depression, rage, aniexty, etc. given its deep-rooted spiritual effects. Also, any patients suffering from eating disorders that need a boost will find joy with this offering. I am glad that I finally had the chance to try another offering from Lodestar after a long hiatus and finally being able to get them on here. I think it’s safe to say this won’t be the last feature from them on here. I remember saving this one for Thanksgiving Day as I was desiring a more relaxed and mood lifting high. This did not disappoint by any means. The first thing I noticed about 10 minutes into the sesh was my arms and shoulders becoming a little more wobbly than normal. This paralysis followed through the rest of my body within the next 20 minutes and, before I knew it, I was in full couch lock mode grill the TV as the Bears played the Lions. Even though I stayed in position, this one really brought out happy thoughts and was a great compliment to the holiday. I really felt an increase within my thoughts and overall perception which led to an overall soothing high with limited worries. The Turkey dinner was definitely an added bonus to the sesh as I demolished every last bit of food on my plate. Yes, plan on keeping some snacks by after smoking this because you’ll damn sure need it. The high, in my opinion, definitely outdid the smokability for this particular offering although the all-around effects from this sesh were something I would not pass up on in the future. The break up also left some considerable amounts of kief scattered across the rolling tray. I was able to fill up the joint pretty nicely and was ready for lift off. When I sparked the Peanut Butter Breath in an organic raw, the initial inhales were dominated by nutty, earthy, creamy and a bit of vanilla scents on the inhale. The terps on the inhale really dialed in on the profiles of both parents within the genetics (dosidos and Mendo breath, respectively) which ended up being super pungent. The pulls were gassy and fairly strong which led to some minor build up in the chest and some coughing. On the way out, I experienced musty and piney terps. This was accompanied by a fairly sweet taste which I have never really captured during the previous times I have smoked Peanut Butter Breath. Creamy vanilla notes made up this taste which didn’t really come as a surprise given the lineage. Over the course of the sesh I did feel the pills becoming a little more musty towards the middle of the end of the sesh which turned that once sweet aftertaste a little sour. Periodically, the hits were a bit harsher at times and it was tough exploiting what taste I was actually receiving at times. This one did burn a little darker on the ash but had a pretty solid res drip. I feel like this could be a result of the flush but not 100% sure although the pbb burned clean for the most part. All in all, I believe the smokability on this was fair and led to even more impressive high.
