Cultivar Review: Shortbread by Cresco

New year and one of the companies in this state that has been making moves is @cresco_pa. A couple years back and it was mostly mids but every since they hit the Cali market we’ve seen some heat coming from them not only in quality but also in exclusive strains. One of these new strains is Shortbread, a cross of Animal Mints Bx1(Animal Mints*Wedding Cake) and Kush Mints(Animal Mints*Bubba Kush). This is pretty much the same lineage as The Soap by @theminntz instead of Kush Mints 11 it’s the Rabid Hippie Cut and they used the Animal Mints Bx1 which was back crossed with its mother Wedding Cake adding some sweet cake like qualities. Lineage/Genetics: Animal Mints Bx1 x Kush Mints Original Breeder/Grower: Cresco  Terpene Profile: Unknown

Shortbread Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review

shortbread by cresco strain review by theweedadvocate 2A nice four nug eighth with one giant oddly shaped spear. A mix of sage and mint greens with some accents of plum thruout the middle. Bright carrot orange pistils sitting on thick sandy colored trichomes. The cure is more on the dryer side than I’d like busting down a bit dusty. The large nug on my last slide has some unusual looking holes in it. 23/25 Popping the lid of the newly designed plastic jars with sealed top is a nice touch. The floral mint from the Kush Mints is prevalent upon opening but after its breakdown it reveals more sweet bread, vanilla, and lavender fabric sheets. Not nearly as floral as the soap but with very similar qualities. 21/25 Now with the flavor it hits less with the sweet cake notes and more with the floral mint. Heavy amounts of Linalool are detectable in the flavor like walking thru a field of fresh flowers with hints of sweet honeysuckle. Dry pull is floral pistachio that burns down to bright white ash with a lavender lemon pound cake taste. The flavor stays true all the way down with a small resin ring at the end. 22/25 Good swift hitting Sativa that hits with uplifting body buzz to motivate you in the mornings and before workouts. It’s good to see the rise of some new Sativas that aren’t a Haze, Tangie or Sour Diesel but in a category of its own that’s a welcome addition to the family. I’m excited to try more of Cresco’s new additions and would pick this one up again. 22/25 88 points- Weed Advocate @theherbalcarecenter #weedadvocate #shortbread #cresco
