Strain Review: Durban Poison by Ananda Farms

I can’t believe I’m just now getting around to trying anything from @ananda.farms. I’ve been on this scene in a varying capacity for a few years now, and can tell you from experience that there isn’t an outdoor producer in the state that commands the reputation Ananda does. You likely won’t have tried their flower, but if you smoke your share of @bosnoseknows hash, you’ve doubtlessly tried their handiwork. They grow the Tally Mon that all the heady bois cream themselves over. They also grow the Durban Poison I’m about to review for you today. Ananda Farms Durban Poison Review

I got a lot of responses when I asked for Durban Poison recs a few weeks back. You MFs love Durban, man. This stuff from Ananda was the one that excited me the most. I don’t smoke a whole lotta outdoor weed. It’s not like I don’t like it or think it’s inferior, but I’m a sucker for that indo bag appeal with the pristine trichomes and coloration that’s harder to achieve outdoors, if it’s even achievable at all. Outdoor really does need to be judged on its own. Quality is in the eye of the beholder here. The smell is citrus leaning like I expect from Durban. Fresh lemon zest and pine come through the strongest for me. Pretty standard for an Equatorial, subsaharan sativa. I’ve noticed that many African genetics like this have a similar smell regardless of point of origin. It’s super interesting to look at those old landraces and see qualities that have come to characterize modern classics. That’s why it’s so important to learn about the history behind the things we do. It’s not enough to be good at something, to be truly great you gotta know why and what makes it good. The high is active and creative. It’s not a strong high, so take it slow and keep your faculties about you. It’s one of those highs that’ll fuck you up way worse than you’ll notice. There’s no body load or eye lid weight, so you won’t know how high you actually are. Overall, it’s a solid outdoor Durban. @thc.pdx is the only place I know of that carries Ananda flower. I wanna say I saw @archive_oregon_ posting a story about it a while back, too.
