Sonoran Roots Apple Fritter Strain Review

This one has been on the hype train for a few weeks now and I know there’s multiple growers pushing this strain out right now so was curious to see how Sonoran matches up with the competition. First time trying the fritter so you know I was excited to break into this mofo! First glance you see a mixture of beautiful light/dark buds with a perfect ratio of trichomes to orange hairs. Can’t forget about those sneaky hues of purples always trying to steal the spotlight📸 Crack the seal and you get a light sweet fruitiness with hints of vanilla🍦Reminded me of a box of fruity pebbles that was left open and got stale. The fruitiness is there, but not punch you in the nose terps. Post grind you can smell the cookies start to overpower the sweetness also adding a slight minty earthy flavor to the pallet. Sadly even after the grind the aroma was still not 100% there. The flavor is where this flower really started to disappoint. Smoke is harsh and earthy with a piney dry kush aftertaste. Really nothing to enjoy except the faint kushy aftertaste but even that did not want to stick around for more than 10 seconds. Effects wise is where this flower started to become less shitty. Pleasant upbeat happy mood creating that light floaty head feeling. Accompanied by a slight full body buzz putting you in a very relaxed state physically and mentally. This one surprisingly hits behind the eyes very quickly but does not make you feel like it’s nap time💤 Very well balanced hybrid that is a great smoke for anytime of the day. The Sour Apple gives you that positive upbeat vibe while the Animal Cookie brings that indica heat🔥🍪 All in all I really enjoyed this strain minus the lack of terps and freshness.
