Strain Review: Gelato #33 by Nelson and Company Organics
I finally got a @nelsonandcompany review up. This is my fourth try. Four different dispensaries, four different strains, three groupings of pictures inexplicably lost to time and space. This Gelato, though, this is the fucking Chosen One.

Nelson and Company Gelato #33 Strain Review
These nugs have the beautiful coloration you’d expect from well grown Gelato. Striking orange hairs and a combination of green hues and white frost that is even more evident against the purple that Gelato is known for. Sticky and dense without being rocks, the consistency is pretty much perfect. You can tell the care that went into this. It’s got the strong sugar notes you should be associating with Gelato at this point. We may have a different term for it, but you know what I’m referring to. Underneath that, there’s the fruity cream aroma. It’s Gelato. You know what it tastes like. It’s good. This stuff is more functional than some Gelato I’ve had, but it’s a heavy hitter nonetheless. It fucks you up with a functionality not unlike FourLoko or that strong Turkish coffee with raki in it. I got this from @thc.pdx, but I think literally every dispensary in Portland carries their stuff (I know for sure that @tetra.pdx, @mongoosecannabis, and @oregrownindustries do), so just ask your budtender which of their products they have. They’ll have something.Nelson and Company Gelato 33 Review Part Deux
If you’ve been on the Portland cannabis scene for a while in any capacity, you’ve heard of @nelsonandcompany. They don’t get the big hype that some farms are getting these days with the crazy exotic genetics and marketing, but they’ve quietly been one of the best producers in the state for the past decade. I’ve tried a number of their products over the years, but their Gelato 33 is by far my favorite. I see people say that flower checks all the boxes pretty often, and I gotta say that I usually disagree. Not with Nelson’s Gelato, though. It has bag appeal in spades, a pleasant terpene profile, strong flavor, euphoric high, and even regularly tests out at 30+% THC. It’s got something for everyone. The smell is dominated by a classic Gelato profile. Cream, sugary sweetness, little bit of aromatic gassiness, and a general fruitiness that never turns into specific notes. I’m not always big into Gelato, but this is a really great example of it. It’s got a more simple profile, but it’s also got that complexity that keeps your nose in the dram even when you aren’t smoking. The high was one of the more euphoric I’ve had for a bit. It had a good level of energy to the high. Or, at least it didn’t have a strong couch lock effect. I really liked mixing it with a more uplifting, buzzy high like a Durban Poison for what amounts to stoner rave fuel. Had me jamming out hard in my back yard. If you want to find this or anything from Nelson, you don’t have to look hard. @thc.pdx, @mongoosecannabis, and even @naturalwondersoregon carry their stuff periodically. I got mine from @tetra.pdx on Belmont. I’ll have a couple reviews of other Tetra products coming up soon from my visit to the new location on N Williams. I always recommend you try the shops I frequent, but I also suggest you get familiar with the shops in your neighborhood. My favorites came about because I wanted to try the new shops in my neighborhood and it happened to work out well. There’ll never be a substitute for giving a new thing a chance. . . . #thehighestcritic #Gelato33 #strainreview #strainreviews #weedreviews #420review #portlandcannabis #OMMP #portlandweedreviews #mmj #oregoncannabiscommunity #portlandcannabiscommunity #oregonweedreviews #Medicate #oregoncannabis #medicalmarijuana #pnwstoners #pdxcannabiscommunity #pdxcannabis #pdxstoners #cannabisreviews #cannabiscommunityCheck out more reviews by @pdxstoneman on Instagram!
