Strain Review: Trop and Cherry by Real McCoy Farms
Shalom Hebrews and Shebrews (and Non-Binarebrews). In honor of the second to last day of Hanukkah, I’m gonna be reviewing the Trop and Cherry from @boring_weedco and @the_realmccoyfarms for your reading pleasure. What Trop and Cherry has to do with Hanukkah is an aspect of this intro I hadn’t thought out, but we’re just move on.

I deal with a lot of fruit punch terps in my work on this page. Berry, grape, tropical fruit. All that shit. Rarely do I see what I view as a unique twist on that standard profile. The smell on this stuff was as striking as the appearance and bag appeal. Some standard fruity cherry notes, but the sharpness of the Trop really comes through. Orange terps are getting more and more deservedly popular, and I think that’s largely down to how dominant they are in a profile. Rarely do I see a Trop cross where I couldn’t sense it without being told.
The high leaned more on the Trop for me with it’s functional euphoria, but the more relaxing qualities still came through. I honestly think the smell and taste were a bit more noteworthy than the high. You’ve smoked hybrids before. It’s good.
I’d really like to try this as a concentrate. Like, obviously as hash rosin, but I also think this profile could translate well as a hydrocarbon extract. There’s kind of a cheesy note that the sourness from the Trop provides that would be really interesting if you concentrated it.
I’ve been buying a good deal of my recent stock from @oregrownindustries. I’m becoming closer and closer with the budtenders there, and can’t recommend the place enough. They’re spendy, but not much more than any other high quality dispensary in town these days. I don’t think there’s a shop in town with a higher average quality in their stock. I have kind of a Ron Swanson in the hardware store problem at some shops because I know more than 90% of the budtenders I work with, but I don’t feel that way there. Whether you’re a novice looking for an amazing recommendation or a long time stoney boi like me, you’re gonna be real happy there. Sean, Sonia, and Spencer are my favorites, but their whole staff is fantastic. Tip heavy and tell them PDXStoneMan sent you.
