Strain Review: Chrome Runtz by JGrapes Farm

Chrome Runtz Cannabis Cultivar (Strain) Review

. grown by @the_grapeman 🔌 @ostf_dc_backup 🔌 @alien_organics96 🔈 @spitta_andretti . 🔥The aroma was sweet, earthy and creamy with a mix of mint and hints of citrusy pine that acts like a silver cloud for the heavier notes. . 💨I taste sweet creamy berry notes with a slight earthy cirtusy sharpness towards the backend. The smoke was potent and medium in heavyness, the flavors are long lasting and distinct. . 🔥Big, chunky, colorful, trichome frosted nugs. The leaves are tight but break down into some well structured kushy pieces. Some colas develop a rounder structure to them. Theres a nice blend of different purple and green hues and clusters of long glossy orange pistils. Dark muted blueish purple leaves peak out between the forest , fern and olive green hues and bleed into a vibrant violet as you break down. In some areas the darker colors cluster together. . 💨The experience was great, relaxation and a some heavyness in my limbs kicked in quickly but was balanced out by a smooth uplifting cloud of euphoria that was keeping me afloat with a consistent stream of sociable energy. mentally i was engaged and in bliss jokes and socializing seemed to come easy.

  • Sounds like you just thru a name to it. Does it have Chrome lineage? Runtz lineage?

lol sorry i dont name strains and really could care less about the name.
if u want more info than what i was able to provide try hitting up the grower ..
to help you Chrome is a rare strain with a “mysterious” lineage so itll be difficult to find a trustvworthy source of info and im not into just copying and pasting from google. we all know runtz is zkittles and gelato .. if u find out what Chrome genetics are let me know , im thinking its a kush/diesel something like a platinum cross.
    glad you enjoyed the review.

I appreciate your review because there is none out there right now for this strain. But the parent strains are always important to me and so is the strain name. For example I know what Runtz is and how it effects me but I’ve never heard of Chrome. I just searched Chrome strain and found this https://www.allbud.com/marijuana-strains/indica/chrome

For me whether it’s Sativa, Indica or Hybrid is also important. Chrome Runts is way more Indica then just Runtz. It’s pretty heavy. I usually won’t buy a really sleepy Indica and this is one for me. It’s nice but it makes me sleepy and feel heavy. Not really couch lock but not wanting to walk around or move for sure, I feel sedated, not as Euphoric as you. I never got that with this strain. I do with just Runtz. Anyway for what it’s worth, I would continue to read your reviews if it included some of this info. Saying this to be helpful. But great to read what it did for YOU.

    • Thanks for the comment! Here are my thoughts: There’s no guarantee that that Chrome listed on Allbud is the same Chrome that is a parent of JGrapes’ Chrome Runtz being written about here. There’s no guarantee that Chrome is even a parent of “Chrome Runtz” as Chrome Runtz could just be a cut of Runtz that looked so colorful it ended up being called Chrome Runtz. Almost everything available nowadays is Indica Dominant, The Indica/Sativa dichotomy isn’t very useful besides telling you stuff like leaf size/count, flowering time, and end plant height. What does matter is knowing the parent strains and I agree that it’d be nice to know. Oftentimes, by the time the reviewer buys it, all the info they have is what’s on the bag and what’s available online through research. Often times the grower won’t even know the original breeder or true parents. Hell, a breeder could create something fire that they legitimately don’t know the exact “strain” the parents are. For obvious reasons, people have wanted to stay incognito and obscure those things in legacy markets.

Add on top of that, the fact that strains of the same name from different seedmakers using parents strains of the same name will not be genetically identical – even if the exact same parent plants were used. then sprinkly in the fact that they’re working with plants that they just know to look, smell, grow, and smoke the same. That’s how we end up with so many different cuts of OG, Diesel, Haze, etc – let alone the different lines.

There’s a whole lot of places that this information can go missing and I’d agree it’d be helpful if everybody along the supply chain would honor the breeder and the parent strains because as you and I and sjweedreview are living proof of… the end person smoking it really does care! Thanks again for your comment.

Additionally, everybody’s endocannabinoid system is different so what hits someone as sedating could hit someone else as euphoric. Preliminary research shows that “typical” effects only feel that way for roughly 2/3 of the population when it comes to cannabis.

Hope this info and website help you find the best smoke for you!

Unfortunately not every strain has a known lineage and just because they share a name doesn’t mean the lineage is actually the same .. check out what Caleb said in his comment that pretty much sums it up everyone has a different reaction to things also in my Other comment ,,
unless you got this strain from this specific grower I’d have a hard time thinking we even had the same weed to start off with.
To your point my reviews aren’t meant to tell you how to feel or what to expect , I’m just telling you how I felt and describing it with the best of my ability. My favorite strain is OG kush and depending on the cut and the grower and where on the plant it came from it could give me completely different reactions.

I would say go hit up jay grapes he’s the breeder/ grower etc but he went MIA a couple months ago … when I made the review he kept a lot of the info to himself b whatever I posted is what I know … I hear you in your comments and I can say in my reviews I post the growers, farm and the plug it’s your job at that point to find them … these reviews are old and were copied from ig and instagram doesn’t allow certain things which is why it’s not completely clear who’s who in the post here … on the other platform at the point in which I posted you would’ve been able to go directly to the plug and the grower and speak to them yourself …hope that helped … I’m still u see the assumption that chrome is just another platinum type strain or maybe even some silver haze or something but tbh not sure.
